San Francisco Bay Area freelance photographer. Freezing fragments of this spacetime continuum...

With his father as the inspiration for his photography, Dave first picked up a camera - his dad’s old Nikkormat 35mm manual film camera - at age 18 and never put it down. Dave began photo classes at community college and learned how to develop B&W film and prints, meanwhile developing a deep appreciation for the process of "old school" film photography. He continued his pursuits while working alongside a professional model and portrait photographer for 5 years as a darkroom printer and retoucher. During this time Dave began attending San Francisco Art Institute to pursue a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Photography. He was intrigued by unconventional film developing and printing techniques and fortunate enough to be able to use his employer’s private darkroom. During off hours he began experimenting with solarizing, cross processing, multiple exposures and shadow-grams, further developing his appreciation for the creative process. Having successfully and enthusiastically welcomed the transition to digital photography since then, his love of shooting film and the creative possibilities of photography remain. To this day he proudly wears the badge of honor and knowledge in both analog and digital techniques. His professional photography business “Ophidian Eye Photography” is testament to this. Dave is available for personal branding, marketing, lifestyle, headshots, modeling portfolio, studio and location, live events, product shoots and more.
